Mental Health Care Specialist

CentraCare is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Worker to join our team in the Inpatient Behavioral Health unit at Rice Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our patient care team, you will provide direct and indirect care to patients, ensuring their physical, educational, psychosocial, and spiritual needs are met.
Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients, including assisting with daily living activities and supporting their treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the Registered Nurse (RN) and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Perform delegated patient care and non-patient care tasks, as assigned.
- Assist the patient care team in the treatment and care of patients and families, in accordance with established policies, procedures, and unit standards.
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training initial and on-going training provided required.
- Ability to effectively handle escalating behavior and utilize physical safety holds with aggressive patients.
- 2 years of college with courses in psychology, sociology, and/or social work or comparable job experience preferred.
- Six months experience in nursing assistant or similar role preferred.
- Experience with computers and typing skills preferred.
- Competitive hourly rate starting at $17.34, with increases based on experience.
