About the Role

This position is responsible for managing and coordinating all legal and compliance matters affecting the company. The Senior Lawyer and Compliance Manager will provide legal and strategic advice to senior management and colleagues throughout the company and its affiliates and subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement legal strategies to support the company's business objectives.
  • Manage and direct outside counsel on litigation and other matters.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, policies, procedures, and other documents.
  • Analyze and structure agreements, including those involving customers, vendors, confidentiality, employment and other corporate agreements for domestic and international operations.

Qualifications

  • A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing of the Georgia Bar Association with an active license.
  • Minimum of 10 years of legal experience working as a lawyer in a commercial law firm, with substantive training in production liability matters, including a minimum of 5 years in-house experience. A preferable background will also include substantial time spent working in an industrial/agricultural manufacturing industry.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective organizational skills in order to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to assume heavy workload to meet timing and project needs.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced business environment and follow-up on pending issues timely.
  • Personal integrity and high level of professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
