We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at the Ambulatory Surgery Center. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing the nursing care of patients, coordinating with surgeons and anesthesia providers, and ensuring the highest level of quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the nursing care of patients, including preparing them for procedures, assisting physicians during procedures, and providing care in recovery.
- Coordinate with surgeons and anesthesia providers to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing care to improve quality and patient outcomes.
- Participate in primary care of patients as needed and oversee clinical areas to ensure patient needs are met.
- Enforce nursing practice standards and licensing/accreditation rules and regulations to provide quality patient care.
- Work collaboratively with scheduling personnel to coordinate procedure scheduling.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to promote quality patient care.
- Recommend revision of patient-care policies and procedures as necessary to conform to accepted principles and practices.
- Respond to emergency situations and maintain competency.
- Oversee all nursing activities during emergencies to ensure patient needs are met.
- Manage optimal patient and staff flow to prevent opportunities for healthcare acquired and surgical site infections.
- Analyze clinical documentation to ensure Center's policies/procedures are followed.
- Support and direct services provided based on policies and procedures, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current state license to practice as a registered nurse.
- Basic cardiac life support certification and ACLS.
- At least two years of registered nurse experience.
- Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and professionally interact with managers, employees, clients, vendors, the general public, and physicians.
- Ability to work collaboratively with center leadership on the supervision and direction of nursing care and patient scheduling.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate nursing care to improve quality of care given.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
