Park Ranger Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Park Ranger Supervisor to join our team at Harris Beach State Park. As a key member of our park operations team, you will be responsible for providing direct supervision to paid permanent, seasonal, and temporary employees and volunteer staff in the protection of state park lands, natural and cultural resources, and in the maintenance, operation, and repair of park structures, facilities, equipment, and utility systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of park rangers, park ranger assistants, and volunteers to ensure the protection of state park lands and natural and cultural resources.
- Develop and implement effective park operations plans to ensure the efficient use of resources and the delivery of high-quality services to visitors.
- Collaborate with other park staff and external partners to achieve park management goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with park regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on park operations, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols.
Requirements:
- Five (5) years of visitor services experience (e.g., rule enforcement, resource interpretation, special events and activities) AND/OR park maintenance experience (e.g., construction trades, landscaping) AND/OR natural resource technician experience (e.g., forestry, fish and wildlife).
- A Bachelor's degree in Park and Recreation Administration, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies, or a related field AND Two (2) years of visitor services experience (e.g., rule enforcement, resource interpretation, special events and activities) AND/OR park maintenance experience (e.g., construction trades, landscaping) AND/OR natural resource technician experience (e.g., forestry, fish and wildlife).
- An Associate's degree in Park and Recreation Administration or Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies, or a related field AND Three and a half (3.5) years of visitor services experience (e.g., rule enforcement, resource interpretation, special events and activities) AND/OR park maintenance experience (e.g., construction trades, landscaping) AND/OR natural resource technician experience (e.g., forestry, fish and wildlife).
Special Requirements:
- To be hired, you must have a criminal records and driving records check that meets OPRD criteria at the time of hire and throughout employment.
- You must have a valid driver's license at the time of hire and throughout employment.
