Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Firefighter/EMT-Basic to join our team at Sandoval County, NM. As a Firefighter/EMT-Basic, you will be responsible for performing skilled work in fire suppression, emergency medical services, life support, and rescue operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency alarms and calls for service, and perform fire suppression, rescue, life support, and emergency medical duties as required to control emergency incidents.
  • Work requires the safe operation of county emergency and/or passenger vehicles, as necessary.
  • Perform assigned duties within scope of authority and training, and according to SCFR policies and procedures.
  • Operate emergency, fire, rescue, medical, and life saving tools and equipment.
  • Assess, treat, stabilize, and transport patients according to SCFR medical protocol and level of emergency medical certification/licensure.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED Certificate from an accredited institution; Associate's Degree in Fire Science, Emergency Medical Services, or related field is preferred.
  • Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) License from New Mexico Emergency Medical Systems (NMEMS).
  • Valid New Mexico driver's license.
