Support Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Support Nurse - LPN to join our team at Liberty Health. As a Support Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in Providing Resident Care: Assist nursing personnel in ensuring the best possible patient care on a specified unit during assigned work hours.
- Take Call for Staffing Coverage: May be required to take call for staffing coverage as needed.
- Delegate Duties to Non-Licensed Nursing Personnel: Delegate duties to non-licensed nursing personnel and monitor their performance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Assist in Quality Assurance Data Collection: Assist in collecting and analyzing quality assurance data to identify areas for improvement.
- Adhere to Infection Control Protocols: Adhere to all regulations and protocols related to cleanliness, infection control, and standard precautions.
- Assist with Records and Orders: Assist with maintaining accurate records and orders for new admissions to the unit.
- Attend Nurse Department Meetings: Attend scheduled nurse department meetings to stay informed and contribute to team discussions.
- Monitor and Measure Decubiti: Monitor and measure decubiti weekly and complete integument watch assessment forms accurately.
- Report Performance Issues: Report any possible performance issues by employees within the facility to the RN for determination of disciplinary action.
- Assist with Lab Requests: Assist with lab requests as ordered per facility policy using appropriate techniques.
- Assist with Emergencies: Assist with emergencies arising while on duty and perform CPR if needed.
- Notify Attending MD of Changes or Illnesses: Notify attending physicians of any changes or illnesses of patients in the unit.
- Implement Orders and Changes: Implement orders and changes in orders as instructed or ordered by the MD.
- Coordinate Health Care Team: Assist with coordinating the health care team, including rehab aides' duties and assignments.
- High School Graduate: Must be a high school graduate.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) graduated from an accredited School of Nursing, with a current, valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in North Carolina.
- Quality Nursing Care: Must provide quality-nursing care to patients, follow doctor's orders, and have a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
- CPR Certification: Must be CPR certified yearly and attend in-service training and other staff meetings as required.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Must have the ability to make decisions regarding nursing and unit problems, realizing that errors and incompetence may have serious consequences for patients and/or staff.
- Ability to Work Well Under Pressure: Must be able to work well under pressure, problem solve, and perform various jobs.
- Knowledge of Policies and Procedures: Must read, know, and follow personnel, department, and facility policies and procedures, and adhere to local, state, and federal requirements.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to maneuver medication carts, treatment carts, and other nursing equipment.
