Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in Providing Resident Care: Assist nursing personnel in providing resident care, including assisting with daily living activities, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Support Nursing Staff: Assist with staffing coverage, including taking call and providing support to nursing staff during their assigned work hours.
  • Delegation and Monitoring: Delegate tasks to non-licensed nursing personnel and monitor their performance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Quality Assurance: Assist with quality assurance data collection and analysis, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Infection Control: Assist with infection control measures, including adhering to cleanliness and standard precaution protocols.
  • Record Keeping: Assist with maintaining accurate records, including resident assessments and medication orders.
  • Emergency Response: Assist with emergency response situations, including performing CPR and notifying attending physicians.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Licensure: Current, valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in North Carolina.
  • Certifications: CPR certification and ability to attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
  • Skills: Ability to make decisions regarding nursing and unit problems, work well under pressure, and perform various jobs.
