We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Revo Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Operative Preparation: Assist with obtaining equipment and supplies for scheduled procedures, and prepare the surgical suite to ensure a sterile environment.
- Instrument Management: Prepare sterile instrument tables, check instruments and supplies for cleanliness and proper function, and ensure that all necessary items are available.
- Surgical Support: Assist surgeons and other surgical team members with all phases of the surgical procedure, including preparing and maintaining an aseptic surgical environment.
- Medication Management: Label medications in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Equipment Maintenance: Demonstrate competency to operate all specialty instruments, supplies, and equipment unique to the OR for all types of surgical procedures.
- Specimen Handling: Ensure that specimens obtained during procedures are handled according to policies and procedures.
- Cleaning and Disinfection: Clean and return specialty instruments and equipment to their proper locations, and assist with the cleaning of the OR between cases and after the last case of the day.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other disciplines to maximize patient outcomes and ensure a smooth flow of the surgical experience.
- Reporting and Documentation: Report occurrences through the center's established reporting process related to employee and/or patient/visitor events.
- Professional Development: Participate in acceptable continuing education, fostering career and skill development, including meeting departmental continuing education requirements.
- Cost Management: Assist in managing controllable costs by the proper, non-wasteful use of surgery center resources.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited or non-accredited surgical technology program.
- Certification: Surgical Technologist Certification through a governing body is preferred.
- Experience: One year of Operating Room experience in the last 3 years is preferred.
- Professional Memberships: Current membership in the A.S.T. is preferred.
- Certifications: Current BLS certification or completed upon hire.
- Integrity: Do the right thing and take responsibility for what you do and say.
- Service: Consistently contribute to deliver an exceptional experience.
- Quality: Act with high purpose, committed effort, and skillful execution to exceed expectations.
