We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced litigation associate to join our team at Matasar Jacobs LLC, a BigLaw spinoff located in Cleveland, Ohio.

About Our Firm

With over 9 years of experience, our national practice focuses on representing securities broker/dealer firms, RIAs, and financial advisors in a wide range of litigation, enforcement defense, regulatory counseling, and business matters.

Job Responsibilities
  • Handling complex commercial, business, and securities litigation matters, including trial, arbitrations, and regulatory enforcement actions (SEC, FINRA, and state).
  • Participating in client advisement on financial services legal counsel.
  • Conducting research and drafting documents.
  • Rendering opinions on client matters related to compliance, litigation, and regulatory concerns.
  • Identifying issues and problems and developing solutions.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing and licensed to practice law in the State of OH, or the ability to waive in.
  • 3-6 years of substantive commercial litigation and/or employment litigation experience at a recognized firm.
  • Sound working knowledge of RIA and SEC/FINRA concepts preferred but not required.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and opposing counsel.
  • Able to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Intermittent travel required.
  • Candidates must either already live in the metropolitan Cleveland area or be willing to relocate.
