Job Title: Powertrain Sales Account Manager

FPT Industrial is a leading brand in the development, production, and sale of powertrains for various applications. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Powertrain Sales Account Manager to join our team in North America.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing business plans with network distribution partners to drive FPT sales and profit in the region. This includes achieving commercial targets for assigned accounts in the Industrial and Power Generation segments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong customer focus, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders. They will also have a deep understanding of our products and customer requirements, as well as the ability to define opportunities for new product development and improvement.

The Powertrain Sales Account Manager will work closely with the marketing department to develop and implement sales marketing initiatives for assigned accounts. They will also attend industry trade shows and events to support business development for FPT and assigned accounts.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in an Agricultural, Engineering, or Business-related field, 5 years of direct engine experience, and 9 years of experience in a role where customer interface and project management were a focal point of daily activity.

Preferred qualifications include experience coordinating with high-level management, presenting to C-suite, President, VP, and Board Members, and a strong understanding of machine design to better support customer projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business plans with network distribution partners to drive FPT sales and profit in North America.
  • Achieve commercial targets for assigned accounts in the Industrial and Power Generation segments.
  • Own the relationship with assigned partners and be the primary point of contact for issue resolution.
  • Communicate and execute required action plans with key internal stakeholders to address customer concerns, pain points, and roadblocks to sales.
  • Define and implement new customer acquisition plans to achieve profitable growth for assigned accounts.
  • Support new customer acquisition at distributor level by validating and developing leads, and by executing monthly ride-alongs with partner's sales teams for onsite customer visits.
  • Fully responsible for CRM entry and management for all business opportunities and leads related to area of responsibility.
  • Provide product training for distribution partners and maintain the continued education of their sales teams.
  • Manage assigned account's demand planning, forecasting, ordering, inventory management & scheduling processes (PO process).
  • Develop a deep understanding of our products and customer's requirements, and define opportunities for new product/option development and improvement.
  • Continually learn and seek insights on your markets, segments, trends, competitive products, and pricing to enable development of sales tools, market analyses, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Partner with marketing department to develop and implement sales marketing initiatives for assigned accounts (trade shows, promotional events, demonstrations, open days, factory visits, product presentations).
  • Attend industry trade shows and events to support business development for FPT and assigned accounts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural, Engineering, or Business-related field.
  • 5 years of direct engine experience.
  • 9 years of experience in a role where customer interface and project management were a focal point of daily activity.
  • Experience coordinating with high-level management, presenting to C-suite, President, VP, and Board Members.
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine design to better support customer projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize and support multiple initiatives – project management experience preferred.
  • Strong customer focus and strong relationship-building skills.
  • Listening, presentation, and communication skills, and office tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to self-start initiatives and function independently without management supervision.
  • Results-driven with a high level of energy and an ability to quickly grasp and implement new concepts and methodologies.
  • Integrity, accountability, and credibility with customer and team.
  • Experience leading and launching new account and customer initiatives/programs.
  • Experience working within a global, multi-branded organization.
  • Developing and managing dealer contracts with internal legal departments and external dealer ownership/senior leadership.

Travel: Travel involved 50%-75% domestic and quarterly global travel to collaborate with other brands.
