Job Title: Principal Cyber Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Test & Evaluation team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure software development and test environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Analyze total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and sustainment.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Requirements:
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of qualifiable professional/military experience in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline;
  • OR Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of qualifiable professional/military experience in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline;
  • OR PhD in a STEM discipline and 0 years of experience
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs, prior to the start of employment
  • Must possess a current DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification (i.e. Security+ CE or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience with RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
  • Demonstrated experience in the managing operating systems, e.g., (Windows Sever and desktop environments).
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing access controls and utilizing monitoring tools to detect and respond to security incidents.
  • Proficiency in the administration of web applications with a focus on the identification and resolution of performance issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Splunk, Nessus, and/or SolarWinds
  • Experience with Atlassian, Jira, Coverity, and Fortify
  • Experience working with DevOps Processes and Cloud Infrastructure
  • Systems administration experience, to include Windows, Linux, and VM environments
  • Understanding of enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution and high availability
