Development Program Insights:
The Allocation Analyst program serves as a foundational step in your career path within Merchandise Planning & Allocations. Here’s what you can anticipate:
- A comprehensive training and onboarding experience for the initial 12 weeks, where you will be integrated into a business area to apply your skills and knowledge.
- A dedicated mentor to provide guidance and support throughout your training and career progression.
- A flexible work model consisting of 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days remote each week, subject to change. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
- Participation in a cohort of peers starting in the same role, typically during Winter or Summer sessions.
Daily Responsibilities of an Allocation Analyst:
- Ensure optimal merchandise distribution to stores at the right times and quantities to maximize sales.
- Analyze and manipulate data and spreadsheets to accurately forecast merchandise allocation and distribution across the organization.
- Collaborate with Buying and Planning teams to comprehend the off-price business model and implement effective strategies.
- Proactively identify and resolve allocation challenges with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely merchandise distribution.
- Escalate urgent issues or requests for clarification to the appropriate business partner.
- Review and assess data to identify opportunities for improvement in existing strategies.
- Ensure that DC Reserve items are released according to the established weekly release schedule.
- Foster collaboration within the department, working with various functional areas to gather input and execute assignments.
Qualifications for Allocation Analysts:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Merchandising, Marketing, Business).
- Interest in retail merchandising, planning, or allocations.
- Ability to manage, analyze, and interpret data to make informed allocation decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- A data-driven problem solver capable of building and maintaining productive relationships by embodying our core values.
- Strong critical thinking skills with attention to detail and effective communication abilities.
- A proactive self-starter with a sense of curiosity and adaptability, committed to continuous learning.
