Job Overview

Martin Automotive Group is seeking a dedicated Parts Specialist to enhance our operations at the Morgantown Volkswagen dealership. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, enjoy collaborating with various departments and customers, and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist customers in identifying and selecting necessary parts, recommend related items, promote special offers, and ensure customers are aware of the complete product range.
  • Retrieve purchased parts from inventory. If an item is unavailable, assess its availability and inform the customer of the anticipated arrival date.
  • Handle incoming calls, providing pricing information and other relevant details while capturing customer contact information.
  • Prepare orders for daily shipping, delivery, or customer pick-up.
  • Regularly review 'will-call' and 'back-order' files, returning unneeded items to vendors or restocking them.
  • Support the service counter parts sales associate as needed.
  • Order parts that are out of stock with approval from the Parts Manager.
  • Notify customers and the Service Department upon parts arrival.
  • Process cash and credit transactions while maintaining an accurate cash register.
  • Contribute to the organization and cleanliness of the parts department.
  • Receive and stock incoming inventory, ensuring receipts match purchase orders.
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts as directed by management.
  • Ensure merchandise displays are well-stocked, tidy, and visually appealing to customers.
  • Complete all required training as instructed by management.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse customer base.
  • Knowledge and experience in automotive service and related products, or the capacity to learn quickly.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale and computerized inventory systems, or the ability to learn swiftly.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
