Financial Analyst

Position Overview
The Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) is actively seeking a highly motivated and self-sufficient Accountant. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the general ledger, performing account reconciliations, and providing support to various departments. The individual will utilize federal and state regulations, organizational policies, and principles of governmental accounting to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Key tasks include:

• Developing, reviewing, and enhancing accounting procedures and systems.
• Conducting routine to complex accounting tasks.
• Assisting the Finance Director in the preparation and analysis of fiscal reports.
• Interpreting and adhering to the Fiscal Control Act.

The role requires independent judgment, discretion, and initiative in completing assignments. The anticipated salary for this position is $50,233.28, depending on qualifications. PTRC provides a comprehensive benefits package, including participation in the Local Government Employees Retirement System (LGERS).

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

• A solid understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce customized financial reports.
• Leadership capabilities and an understanding of the planning and budgeting processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to interpret and apply relevant rules and regulations.
• Proficiency in modern office practices and Microsoft Office applications.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution and be a current CPA candidate with up to two years of professional accounting experience, preferably in auditing or the public sector. An advanced degree may be considered in lieu of practical experience. Successful candidates must pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks, and a valid driver's license is required.
