Position Summary:

The role entails the maintenance and repair of construction machinery, component assemblies, and parts both in the workshop and on-site. Key responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, documenting technical reports, managing warranty claims, and ensuring the upkeep of company assets while maintaining effective communication with team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs on machinery and components, which includes:
  1. Creating a detailed repair strategy and timeline
  2. Identifying required parts, materials, and tools
  3. Executing repairs safely and accurately, including quality assurance testing of repaired components or systems
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly for parts requisition, special tool usage, daily service logs, and work order finalization
  • Update direct supervisor on repair progress as needed
  • Manage retrieval and return of parts and materials through the company’s ordering system
  • Handle special tools responsibly, ensuring proper care and use of major shop equipment such as air compressors, cleaning tanks, and cranes
  • Utilize company vehicles and fuel cards appropriately
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in both the service area and company vehicle
  • Ensure tools and tool carriers are kept in a safe and efficient condition
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Follow safety protocols diligently
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.

An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four (4) years of apprenticeship experience is preferred.

Technician classification will be determined based on experience, knowledge, and skill level.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks. Employees must be able to reach with arms, climb, stoop, kneel, lift, crouch, or crawl, as well as communicate effectively.

Work Environment:

Employees in this role may frequently encounter wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibrations may occur. The noise level in the work environment can range from moderate to loud.
