Key Responsibilities
  • Manage store operations to achieve maximum sales and profit while maintaining optimum store conditions.
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and friendly service to every customer.
  • Attain sales, profit, expense, and labor budgets.
  • Work with Department Managers to achieve budgeted inventory levels and performance standards.
  • Complete and review all reports as required.
  • Perform and direct the ordering of merchandise and supplies, receiving and handling of merchandise and supplies, and store opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain an outstanding store condition program, effective back door and front-end security procedures, and store safety and fire prevention program.
  • Direct the training and scheduling of personnel and ensure prompt and accurate service at the front end and service departments.
  • Conduct store meetings to review merchandising, sales planning, and operating problems.
  • Perform and supervise selection, hiring, and training of store employees.
Qualifications
  • Able to give and receive complex verbal instructions and descriptions.
  • The ability to read and write English and make decisions concerning store operations.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and knowledge of regulations and laws that apply to the operation of the business.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior grocery store experience.
  • Prior experience as an Assistant Store Manager.
Work Environment

Inside and outside work with extreme variations in temperature, dust, and humidity.
