Mount Carmel Health System, a leading healthcare provider in central Ohio, is seeking a Program Director for its ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program. This esteemed program is approved for a total of 27 residents, with 9 residents per year. Our employed faculty comprises 5 full-time physicians, providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care to residents.
The ideal candidate will possess a current certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine (MD/DO) and at least five years of leadership experience in graduate medical education. Documented scholarly activity, including participation in regional or national meetings, is strongly preferred.
The Program Director will be responsible for establishing the strategic direction of the program, ensuring compliance with ACGME and Review Committee policies, and fostering a learning environment that promotes resident growth and development. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing a learning environment that supports resident education and professional development.
- Designing and implementing scholarly activities and productivity initiatives.
- Mentoring residents and junior faculty in research activities.
- Overseeing faculty development and recruitment.
- Delivering comprehensive feedback and evaluations to residents and faculty.
- Monitoring resident supervision at participating sites.
- Serving on departmental or hospital committees, such as clinical competence, curriculum, and graduate medical education committees.
