Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Collections and Retention Specialist to join our team at Valor PayTech. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for managing and evaluating an existing portfolio of merchants, identifying at-risk accounts, and implementing retention strategies to maintain and grow business relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactive Client Engagement: Make outbound sales calls to high-value merchants within an existing book of business, focusing on merchants that have discontinued services or are at risk of canceling.
  • Pricing Negotiations: Negotiate pricing changes and coordinate the delivery of new equipment to retain business.
  • Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with merchants during escalations to resolve issues and retain business.
  • Business Development: Proactively engage inactive merchants to regain their business.
  • Consultative Guidance: Provide consultative guidance on best payment processing practices based on merchant needs.
  • Account Management: Identify overdue accounts and pursue collection of outstanding payments.
  • Documentation: Document customer account progress using our company CRM.
  • Performance Metrics: Achieve monthly targets for collections, retention, and other key productivity metrics.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in sales or retention, with a focus on high-volume outbound calls.
  • Experience in financial services / credit card processing is strongly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to learn and navigate proprietary CRM systems and Google Docs.
  • Must be organized, flexible, and capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Hourly Pay: $27 - $32 (equivalent to $50,000 - $60,000 annually).
  • Additional Compensation: Monthly commissions.
