Job Overview

Objective:

To effectively oversee and manage fleet maintenance staff while ensuring the repair and preventive upkeep of all fleet vehicles and mobile machinery within the Central Indiana Ready Mix Division.

Primary Duties:
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to communicating, enhancing, and adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and strategic planning for the ongoing maintenance of ready mix fleet vehicles, light-duty fleet, and mobile machinery.
  • Facilitate clear communication with management, team members, and suppliers.
  • Ensure that operational assets are well-maintained to boost their availability and productivity.
  • Oversee DVIR inspections and relay necessary downtime for repairs to pertinent personnel to ensure transparency regarding unit availability.
  • Manage and maintain repair parts and materials inventories at optimal levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local maintenance regulations for fleet assets, including but not limited to annual inspection certifications.
  • Report to the Division VP/GM and Fleet Maintenance Director while assisting with the budgeting of all fleet assets.
  • Meet established deadlines for task completion and other time-sensitive responsibilities.
  • Organize ongoing education and training for technicians.
  • Explore new technologies and methodologies for continuous improvement.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial vehicle maintenance programs.
  • Proficient in computer usage, including Google G Suite and MS Office.
  • Familiarity with Asset Management Software.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders as well as company management.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency with a capacity to adapt and learn swiftly.
  • Flexibility with work schedule; non-traditional hours may be required, along with travel.
  • Residence in the Indianapolis area is necessary.
