Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with the pharmacy manager to track weekly sales, order pharmaceutical stock, and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand and maximize profits.
  • Compounding and Dispensing: Weigh, measure, mix, and fill medications with precision, ensuring accurate quantities and compositions. Provide advice to self-medicating patients and dispense non-prescription medications as needed.
  • Patient Immunizations: Perform regular patient immunizations, promoting public health and well-being.
  • Leadership and Training: In the absence of the Pharmacy Manager, assume leadership responsibilities, schedule pharmacy associates, recognize and reward performance, discipline associates as required, and provide ongoing training and development to improve performance and reduce turnover.
  • Expense Control: Monitor and improve department operations, ensure labor goals are met, and reduce losses due to shrink.
  • Customer Service: Respond to customer complaints and questions in a courteous and efficient manner, providing effective counseling on prescription-related issues.
  • Department Maintenance: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized department, adhering to company, health department, and OSHA standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate department records and files, submitting required pharmacy reports to document department activities.
  • Team Collaboration: Cooperate with co-workers and superiors to ensure smooth department operations and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy or Pharm D degree
  • Licensure: State Pharmacist License
