Job Description

Atlantic Health System is seeking a qualified Speech Pathologist for their inpatient Rehab unit at Newton Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have their full NJ SLP license, but CFY candidates are welcome to apply. Once hired, the Team member will be responsible for providing a full range of speech pathology services, including assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards. The Team Member shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem-solving, and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose and evaluate adult swallowing, speech, and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors.
2. Plan, direct, or conduct treatment sessions according to the plan of care.
3. Provide counseling and education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers.
4. Review Electronic Medical Record to obtain a case history prior to evaluation.
5. Complete objective measurements of swallowing function, including MBSS and FEEs, preferred, but willing to train if needed.
8. Maintain records and documents in the Electronic Medical Record as required by law, establishment's policy, and administrative regulations.
9. Attend meetings and conferences and participate in other activities to promote professional growth.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Evidence of graduation from an accredited college or university in Speech Language Pathology or a similar program. Will consider a strong CFY candidate.

Current NJ SLP license or NJ Clinical Internship Temporary License (CFY).
