About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing diagnostic imaging and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations according to hospital and departmental policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine diagnostic imaging and magnetic resonance procedures, ensuring consistency with clinical diagnoses and demographic information.
  • Positively identify patients, obtain written consent forms, and explain procedures to patients/parents before beginning exams.
  • Prepare, position, and monitor patients throughout procedures, initiating venipuncture for contrast media administration as needed.
  • Process and check images/films for quality, selecting images to be sent to the PACS and/or filmed, and archiving images immediately upon completion of scans.
  • Maintain equipment, rooms, and supplies in assigned areas, performing quality control procedures daily and as assigned.
  • Collaborate with support personnel, communicating with schedulers, clinic personnel, radiologists, and attending physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for patients of all ages, assessing and interpreting age-specific data to identify patient needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and institutional goals.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program required.
  • One year of imaging experience, preferably in X-Ray, CT, or MRI, is necessary.
  • Must obtain MRI specialty registration (R or MR) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within 12 months of start date.
