About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Safety Officer to join our team at HELP USA. As a Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment at one of our transitional housing shelters.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol the facility and outside grounds to ensure the safety and security of residents and guests.
- Ensure residents and guests are properly signed in and escorted to their destinations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain accurate documentation.
- Prepare incident reports as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with residents, staff, and other stakeholders to promote a safe and welcoming environment.
Requirements
- New York State security guard license.
- FDNY F-02 certification within 30 days of hire.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year of security experience, preferably in homeless services.
- Work experience in residential facilities.
- Ability to work with people experiencing homelessness or other disadvantaged populations.
- Strong relationship and customer service skills.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft applications.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
