Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others? Do you have experience in substance abuse prevention and treatment? If yes, then we have the perfect opportunity for you. As a Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator, you will be responsible for engaging the client population in receiving substance abuse education, prevention, and treatment services. You will educate clients on 'stages of change' and meet them where they are at in the process.
Key Responsibilities
Educate clients on different levels of SUD treatment modalities including inpatient, outpatient, detox, rehab, short/long term care, prevention, and harm reduction care. Introduce clients to Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). Facilitate educational groups, workshops, and events on SUD, MAT alternatives, Harm Reduction, and the use of Narcan. Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team and maintain ongoing cooperative relationships with other disciplines to assure quality client services.
Requirements
A valid unrestricted OASAS certification as a CASAC is required. High School Diploma is needed, with Associate/Bachelor Degree preferred. Specific training in chemical use, abuse, and dependence specific to the services provided is also essential.
