Substance Abuse Treatment Specialist

Goddard Riverside Community Center seeks a skilled Substance Use Specialist to join our multidisciplinary ACT treatment team. As an active member of the team, you will provide counseling, case management services, and daily support regarding substance abuse and co-occurring issues.
Schedule and Work EnvironmentThis full-time position is available Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. You will work in a dynamic field and office environment.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties- Plan, lead, and document activities for Co-Occurring Disorder (COD).
- Attend OMH and other training programs on Substance abuse services.
- Research substance abuse services and serve as liaison to treatment programs.
- Serve as a consultant to the ACT team on Substance Use and Harm reduction services.
- Carry a caseload of ACT clients.
- Perform client assessments and formulate treatment goals.
- Facilitate client participation in entitlement programs, psychiatric services, medications management, rehabilitation, and other activities.
- Refer clients to community health services.
- Accompany clients to appointments as needed.
- Communicate regularly with clients' families about their needs and progress.
- Serve as liaison to other service providers.
- Maintain up-to-date client case records according to program guidelines.
To be considered for this position, you must have a Master's degree in social work or Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor. CASAC preferred. Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness and those with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders is required.
