Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide nursing care to adult inmates in a correctional facility. The successful candidate will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring the highest standards of practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to adult inmates, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Utilize the nursing process to deliver evidence-based care and promote continued competence through education and certification.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Document all pertinent information into the health record, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to standards of practice.
  • Work hours, days, and locations as assigned, with the ability to provide coverage as needed to meet institutional needs.
Requirements:
  • Possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Virginia RN license.
  • Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers, with current certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Experience in a correctional setting, with a focus on mental health patients, acute care, and community health settings.
