Position Summary
The Inpatient Psych Registered Nurse is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff, managing assignments, breaks, and workflow within the unit. This role is crucial in ensuring both patient and staff safety while delivering exceptional psychiatric nursing care to individuals admitted for the treatment of emotional and psychological disorders. The nurse will uphold the hospital's philosophy of care, ensuring the safety and well-being of each patient.

Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
Experience Requirements
The candidate must possess a valid RN license in the state of practice and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities. This includes organizing activities and schedules for both medical and non-medical tasks for the Adolescent and Adult populations during assigned shifts. A proven track record of high-quality clinical and interpersonal skills is essential, serving as a role model for peers. The nurse should have a foundational understanding of treatment procedures and interventions commonly used in acute psychiatric care, as well as knowledge of abnormal psychology relevant to the adolescent psychiatric demographic. Familiarity with psychopharmacology and psychotropic medications is necessary, along with basic teaching and training abilities. Skills in problem-solving, organization, time management, crisis intervention, and effective communication (both written and verbal) are required. Experience in facilitating process-oriented and educational groups is advantageous.
Licensure Requirements
Current RN license in California, along with CPR and CPI certifications (or to be obtained within 30 days of hire).
