Job Summary:This role is responsible for performing receptionist duties for assigned departments, following department protocols and procedures. The successful candidate will assist with clerical duties as needed and provide excellent customer service to clients, caregivers, and providers.
Key Responsibilities:- Handle all telephone calls, transfer calls to appropriate parties, and greet and direct visitors.
- Transfer calls to voicemail or take messages and deliver them to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
- Distribute incoming mail, copy, and fax documents in a timely manner.
- Emergency situations with clients/caregivers/providers are referred to appropriate parties.
- Maintain unit-specific documentation as per department guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Provide assistance to staff and clerical support as needed.
- Attend department meetings and in-services as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months of related experience preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a busy switchboard.
- Customer Service Skills, Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated caring attitude/ability to work with geriatric patients.
