About the Role

Suffolk Construction is seeking a highly experienced General Superintendent to lead our Mission Critical team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of complex construction projects, ensuring timely completion, and delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead field operations and execution for assigned projects, ensuring conformance with construction schedules, quality levels, and company standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and project teams to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
  • Recruit, mentor, and train qualified talent to perform and ensure effective matching of talent to project scope.
  • Provide leadership, advice, and assistance to field staff regarding materials, sequencing, scheduling, personnel, and methods of construction.
  • Act as an advocate for Field Operations and actively participate in business development to support the growth of the company.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management and a minimum of 15 years of general contracting experience.
  • Applicable area licenses and the ability to constantly multi-task and handle competing priorities.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage the many details necessary for successful construction, and a strong sense of urgency and initiative.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to confidently and decisively take action, with excellent diplomatic and communication skills.

Working Conditions

The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level, with occasional job site walking. The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time, talk or hear, perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing.
