Job Title: Operations Supervisor, United for Progress

Grade: MGT C

Annual Salary: $90,071.44

Location: Washington, D.C. (HQ)

Role Purpose: The Operations Supervisor will oversee a wide array of financial and administrative tasks that support the United for Progress Team. This includes project management, budget oversight, contract administration, and logistical coordination for events and meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple project management initiatives concurrently, ensuring successful execution.
  • Regularly monitor departmental budgets and prepare detailed reports and analyses as required.
  • Collaborate with leadership to design and implement internal systems that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate logistical arrangements for events, including negotiating contracts with venues and managing on-site support.
  • Work closely with HR on personnel matters, including processing hiring requests and managing employee transitions.
  • Administer vendor contracts and oversee financial transactions with various stakeholders.
  • Manage office resources and equipment distribution for the team.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to support organizational goals.

Contacts: This role will involve interaction with internal staff, leadership, local union representatives, and external partners.

Decision-Making Authority: The Operations Supervisor will report to the Deputy Director and will operate with a degree of independence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of three years of supervisory experience along with five years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong commitment to social justice and organizational values.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in managing complex projects and analyzing budgets.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Thorough understanding of administrative and financial operations.
  • Experience with event management and knowledge of labor unions.

Physical Requirements: Work is primarily conducted in an office environment, with potential for field assignments. Extended hours and travel may be required.
