Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist orthopedic providers in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation
  • Move imaging equipment into specified positions, determine exposure factors, and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff
  • Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including computed radiography, digital radiography, and bone density studies if indicated
  • Process images and review for proper identification and quality control
  • Prepare images for reading by requesting physicians
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in radiologic technology
  • Six months job-related experience preferred
  • ARRT certification required
  • CPR certification required
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Experience in maintaining confidentiality in dealing with sensitive issues
  • Successful record of follow through on commitments and demonstrated ability
