Job Description

The Duluth Bethel Society is a nonprofit organization that provides chemical dependency rehabilitation and community corrections services. We are currently hiring full and part-time Substance Use Clinical Assistants to support our residential treatment program.

Clinical Assistants are members of the treatment team and help with the overall operations of the program. They conduct regular client well-being checks, coordinate meal times, dispense medications, and sign clients in and out of the agency.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain the safety and security of clients and the facility.
  • Recognize crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Ensure clients attend scheduled activities and programming.
  • Complete incident reports as needed.
  • Understand and maintain confidentiality of client information and records.
  • Address negative behaviors with a positive attitude.
  • Perform inspections of client rooms and the facility.
  • Administer medication and track all medications administered.
  • Answer telephone calls.
  • Greet facility visitors and monitor visitation sessions.
  • Sign clients in and out of the facility.
  • Attend bi-weekly agency staff meetings.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to clear a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be willing to work outside of scheduled hours as needed.
  • Must have a high degree of honesty, integrity, empathy, and ability to set and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Must possess good interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written, and positive telephone etiquette.
  • Must be free from problematic substance use.
