Role Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret current and proposed environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations to assess their relevance and implications for our operations.
  • Support the implementation of programs to ensure compliance with EHS regulations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to enhance the culture, awareness, and accountability surrounding EHS initiatives.
  • Assist in the development, execution, and upkeep of EHS programs aimed at compliance, injury prevention, and risk management.
  • Conduct audits, industrial hygiene sampling, ergonomic evaluations, and contribute to pollution prevention efforts.
  • Engage with regulatory representatives, senior management, and the site EHS Committee.
  • Facilitate the implementation of EHS management systems at the operational level.
  • Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Acting as a liaison with regulatory bodies.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate submission of required reports to both the company and regulatory authorities.
  • Drafting and revising EHS plans and procedures.
  • Applying for new permits and renewals.
  • Conducting compliance inspections and identifying necessary actions to meet regulatory standards.
  • Coordinating EHS training for personnel and delivering instructor-led training sessions.

This position may be filled as an EHS Engineer (level 2) or a Principal EHS Engineer (level 3) based on the candidate's experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • 2 years (level 2) or 5 years (level 3) of experience in an EHS role.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience in managing various EHS compliance programs or conducting industrial hygiene assessments and sampling.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to tackle complex challenges by seeking information and innovative solutions from diverse sources.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science (MS) degree in an environmental, health, and safety field, or currently enrolled in such a program.
  • Certifications in environmental or health & safety disciplines.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems and Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience overseeing third-party consultants or contractors.

Compensation: Salary ranges from $68,000 to $116,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Northrop Grumman also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life and disability coverage, savings plans, and paid time off.
