Job Title: Server

Job Summary:

The Server position at Grand Bohemian Orlando is a key role in providing exceptional guest experiences. As a Server, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding service, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and valued. Your primary goal will be to create a memorable dining experience, exceeding our guests' expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Guest Service: Greet and interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner, using professional and Kessler standard nomenclature.
  • Food and Beverage Service: Operate the telephone system, answer calls within three rings, and use correct salutation and telephone etiquette.
  • Confidentiality and Integrity: Maintain the integrity of guests' privacy, including confidentiality of personal information and key control.
  • Menu Knowledge: Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, beer, liquor, and wine.
  • Service Standards: Clear and reset counters or tables after each course, assist dining room servers, and maintain a clean table between servings.
  • Communication: Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food and beverage.
  • Wine Service: Explain, pair, and recommend wine from the wine list.
  • Service Delivery: Serve food and beverage in a genuine, friendly, professional, and efficient manner consistent with the Kessler image and standards.
  • Cash Handling: Relays orders to the kitchen through POS, helps serve courses from kitchen and service bars, totals bill, and accepts payment.
  • Property Management Systems: Proficiently utilize the property management systems and follow cash handling procedures.
  • Teamwork: Develop and maintain a positive working relationship and support the team to achieve our goals.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of guest service etiquette and proper food and beverage serving techniques.
  • Ability to Perform Tasks: Ability to perform all tasks related to the Server position and proficiently use job-related software, property management systems, and office equipment.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to remain calm in various situations, use sound judgment, and effectively solve problems.
  • Communication: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma, GED degree, or related training equivalent.
  • Experience: 1+ year of relevant work experience in a similar scope and title.
  • Background: Experience within luxury brand/markets.

Work Environment:

  • Shared Space: Must be comfortable working in a shared space with constant noise.
  • Changing Priorities: Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism, and collaboration.
  • Schedule: Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of or less than 40 hours with or without notice.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing and Walking: While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to stand and walk up to 8 hours daily.
  • Lifting and Pushing: Push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs.
