Job Title: Elementary School Special Education Associate

Denison Community School District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elementary School Special Education Associate to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Elementary School Special Education Associate will work closely with students, teachers, and staff to provide support and assistance in the classroom. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and want to make a positive impact on the lives of students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with physical tasks, such as putting on and taking off outerwear, moving from room to room, and using the lavatory.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
  • Assist with supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the superintendent or designee.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma.
  • Ability to work with students, teachers, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules and lesson plans.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and use standard office applications.
Working Conditions:

Salary and benefits will be determined by the Board of Education.

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of support services personnel.
