Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing respiratory therapy as prescribed by a Physician, preparing and operating respiratory care equipment, and ensuring accurate and complete Physician prescriptions.

• Ensures accurate and complete Physician prescriptions by comparing prescription requests with medical record order forms and clarifying any discrepancies with Physicians.
• Provides prescribed respiratory therapy, including administering oxygen concentrations, aerosol medication devices, and mechanical ventilators, and performing vital capacity, inspiratory force, and peak flow measurements.
• Maintains mechanical ventilators and respiratory therapy equipment, testing ventilators for functioning of monitors, oxygen blenders, alarms, and leaks, and remedying all leaks and replacing defective equipment.
• Documents all activities and patient outcomes/responses per policy and procedure.

• Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Current License to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in New York State, and Current Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) Certification in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience required.

Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm

The salary range for this position is $75,020-$126,250/year.
