Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team at US Foods, Inc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose diesel equipment issues to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on diesel equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend its lifespan.
  • Document all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to road service calls and performing road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance shop personnel to ensure seamless operations and efficient use of resources.
Requirements:
  • 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
  • CDL A and DOT certification preferred.
  • Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Computer and software experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
