Job Summary

We are seeking an Expert-level Systems Engineer to join our dynamic Sensor Integration team in Springfield or Chantilly, VA. As a key member of our team, you will provide systems engineering and integration support for NGA's Sensor Integrations (TIS) Office. Your expertise in analytic tradecraft and systems engineering will be crucial in exploiting Infrared (IR) products to support the intelligence needs of operational users.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic and solutions-level systems engineering support for the integration of new sensor capabilities into the Enterprise architecture.
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including system requirements and design specifications.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of sensor systems.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and other stakeholders.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in systems engineering and sensor technology.


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Imagery Analysis, or a related STEM degree program.
  • 18+ years of experience working in government or industry in relevant work areas, including DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process, or systems engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture environments.
  • Experience with and strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Analytic tradecraft expertise for exploiting Infrared (IR) products to support the intelligence needs of operational users.
  • Insight into IR sensors to include technical strengths and limitations for various operational use cases.
  • Good understanding of the national OPIR architecture and sub-systems, and how their products compare against the products of GEOINT systems.
  • General Imaging Science technical background and programmatic expertise in developing GEOINT TCPED systems.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
