Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant/Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our occupational medicine team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering relevant health information.
  • Monitor and complete clinical integration/quality improvement measures, notifying clinicians of opportunities within their scope.
  • Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and standard precautions/infection control guidelines.
  • Assist physicians/advanced practice clinicians with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, and EMG.
  • Administer routine medications under physician/APC orders or medical group-approved standing orders/protocols.
  • Follow through with necessary procedure or test requests, pre-approved care algorithms, new appointment times, and referrals to other facilities or services.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and physicians to ensure smooth clinic flow.
Requirements
  • Active License issued by the state in which you practice (LPN) or completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant (MA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships.
  • Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, navigation within a window operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.
