We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in the evaluation and treatment of patients in various inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret physician referrals to perform basic Therapeutic Recreation evaluations.
- Utilize support staff and volunteers to deliver patient care.
- Delegate responsibility to clinical students and support staff while maintaining clinical supervision and documentation review.
- Maintain accurate patient care documentation and billing in accordance with system, hospital, and department policies.
- Participate in professional development and stay informed of current developments in the field.
- Use equipment safely and effectively, reporting any malfunctions or missing equipment to the direct supervisor.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A graduate degree in Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent.
- Current certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
- One to two years of experience in an academic or large medical center-based practice, preferably working with children and/or adults.
