Cardiovascular Research Nurse Specialist

Are you a medical professional seeking a new challenge in cardiac care? The Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation is looking for an experienced Research Nurse or Clinical Research Coordinator to join its research team in the cardiovascular space.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with patients while supporting the research endeavors of physicians from Allina Health's Minneapolis Heart Institute.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical care and experience in the cardiovascular space, with a focus on clinical research.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary nurse or clinical coordinator for a portfolio of clinical research studies.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines and Good Clinical Practice.
  • Works with physician investigators to manage study activities, including problem solving and internal and external communication.
  • Responsible for screening, recruitment, and retention of study participants.
  • Develops source documents and ensures accuracy of protocol data.
  • Identifies and documents Institutional Review Board (IRB) mandated reporting.
  • Develops and ensures compliant processes with study protocols.
  • Provides expertise in planning, development, and budgeting for clinical trials.
  • Provides guidance and support to team members and newer research staff.
  • Supports leadership in process improvement projects and new initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5+ years of clinical experience, with cardiovascular experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and be results-oriented.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and knowledge of Excel functionality.
  • Experience working in an electronic medical record system, such as Epic.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cardiovascular clinical experience.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of clinical research experience, with cardiovascular experience preferred.
  • Active licensure via diploma, associate's, or bachelor's degree programs in a healthcare-related field, with LPN or RN preferred but not required.
  • Certified Clinical Research Coordinator/Professional (CCRC or CCRP) certification strongly preferred.
