SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide exceptional service to guests by creating a welcoming atmosphere, which includes greeting and acknowledging every visitor, maintaining high standards, and demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of customer service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and a welcoming ambiance in restrooms, indoor spaces, and meeting areas.
  • Ensure park pathways, sidewalks, and roadways are free of litter and debris.
  • Efficiently clean assigned areas, including windows, toilets, sinks, and floors.
  • Carry out maintenance and custodial tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize equipment correctly to achieve desired cleanliness results.
  • Offer information about the zoo and its animals, including show times, keeper talks, and directions.
  • Assist guests, manage crowds, and oversee activities to ensure safety and enjoyable experiences.
  • Keep work and storage areas organized and tidy.
  • Adhere to safety, animal care, and guest service protocols while performing duties.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer or guest service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both customers and team members.
  • Flexible, reliable, and self-motivated team player.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Capable of operating all necessary equipment for the role.
  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Physical capability to walk, stand for extended periods, sit, kneel, stoop, crawl, twist, reach overhead, pull, bend, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and some evenings.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrate a friendly and cooperative demeanor towards guests, staff, and volunteers.

  • Capability to twist, bend, and lean to clean various areas.
  • Ability to navigate the work area as needed, including moving quickly to assist guests.
