As a RN PICU, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to critically ill children and their families. Your expertise will be essential in assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans to achieve optimal outcomes. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication. Key responsibilities include:
* Assessing patient needs and developing individualized care plans
* Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
* Monitoring patient vital signs and responding to changes
* Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
* Educating patients and families on disease management and self-care
**Required Skills:**
* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Interpersonal relationship skills
* Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes
* Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
**Required Experience:**
* Current RN License to practice in the State of Texas
* Current CPR certification
* PALS certification within 6 months
* TNCC certification within 1 year
**Education and Training:**
* Degree in Nursing, BSN preferred
* Meets unit-specific education requirements
