Job Summary

Wheeler Clinic is seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist to join our team. As a Clinical Therapist, you will provide intensive in-home therapeutic treatment for families with young children who have substance use issues. You will work closely with clients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote recovery and positive parent-child attachment.

Responsibilities

Conduct program-specific screening and evaluation, and formulate diagnoses in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM).
Develop and document clear clinical formulations and treatment plans that are individualized and measurable, developed in collaboration with the client/family and others as relevant.
Demonstrate knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns and primary modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention.
Triage clinical emergencies and implement program-specific safety and consultation protocols.
Utilize best practices and evidenced-based practice models where appropriate and adhere to model and program expectations.
Communicate in a positive, effective manner with clients, families, and all internal and external providers.

Requirements

Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or a related license-eligible field or a doctoral degree in Psychology is required.
Experience working with substance use and/or young children is preferred.
Evidence of strong family therapy skills and experience working with high-risk families is also required.
Must have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Licensure Requirements for Clinical Positions: Must hold one of the following credentials: LMSW, LCSW, LMFTA, LMFT, LPCA, LPC, or licensed or license-eligible Psychologist in the State of Connecticut.
