Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Certified Social Worker to join our team as a Primary Care Behavioral Health Specialist at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, including assessment, diagnosis, and intervention strategies for behavioral health issues. They will also have the ability to develop and implement a comprehensive behavioral health curriculum for family medicine residents.

The successful candidate will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical team members to provide integrated care, promoting patient health outcomes and addressing physical health and behavioral health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to clinic patients, utilizing behaviorist/consultant skills and collaborating with the treatment team to create and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to promote patient health outcomes, working closely with primary care physicians to address physical health and behavioral health needs.
  • Develop and revise behavioral health curriculum for family medicine residents, ensuring content is up-to-date and aligns with current best practices.
  • Work closely with clinical team members and health students to provide education, consultation, and support in incorporating behavioral health into primary care practice.
  • Educate patients about behavioral health issues, treatment options, and the importance of regular mental health check-ups.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and make necessary adjustments.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in behavioral health and attend relevant conferences and trainings.
  • Complete administrative tasks, such as documentation and reporting, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
  • Arkansas licensure as an LMSW, LCSW, LPC
