We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Medical Support Specialist to join our team at Phalen Leadership Academies. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic and medical needs of our scholars.
Key Responsibilities- Assist certified teachers with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide academic support to scholars with moderate and/or severe impairments.
- Provide medical support, instruction, and assistance to scholars with medical needs, under the supervision of a certified teacher.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop and implement strategies to support scholar progress and behavior.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of instructional plans and materials to support scholar learning.
- Assist with supervision of scholars in the lunchroom and on the playground.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with scholars with moderate and/or severe impairments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other support staff.
