Your Role as an Addiction Recovery Counselor:

The Addiction Recovery Counselor plays a crucial role in the treatment and recovery process for patients dealing with opioid use disorder. Counselors provide empathetic, high-quality care through various formats, including both individual and group therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver compassionate guidance in individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Plan, manage, and document patient recovery processes.
  • Co-facilitate group or family therapy sessions as required.
  • Ensure timely and clear documentation of patient care and treatment.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for each patient.
  • Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
  • Assess patient needs and determine necessary referrals to other programs.
  • Plan aftercare for assigned patients as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Manage case responsibilities to ensure personalized quality care.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and referral sources as needed.
Compensation:

Compensation for this role varies based on several factors, including location, role, skill set, and experience level. The calculated hourly rate for this position is $26.69.

Education and Qualifications:

Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in social or health services preferred.
  • Degree must be from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in addiction recovery or medication-assisted treatment environments.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • RADT registration required.
  • Certification or License preferred.
  • Must be obtained from a California-approved Counselor Certification Organization (RADT, CAADE, CADTP, or CCAPP); or LMFT, LCSW, PhD, or PsyD.
