Job Summary

MasTec Industrial is seeking a skilled Pipefitter Helper II to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will assist journeyman in planning, laying out, installing, testing, and repairing various construction-related systems and components.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret measuring tools to perform tasks accurately.
  • Understand plant layouts and drawing coordinates.
  • Perform tasks including threading, beveling, and cutting pipe.
  • Use hand and power tools to fit and install pipe and tubular products.
  • Assist in installing valves, couplings, and other fittings.
  • Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe.
  • Produce quality work meeting plan, specification, and industry standards.
  • Interact with installation crews for material and equipment movement.
  • Perform daily safety checks to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
  • Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.
  • Take direction from higher-skilled workers or foremen.
  • Have basic knowledge of construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction.
  • Support projects with other tasks as directed by supervision.
  • Communicate with foremen regarding problems, materials, or hazards.
  • Work different shifts and overtime as required.
  • Work under production schedule pressure.
  • Attain set standards of accuracy.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED Certification (preferred).
  • Experience working in one or more construction craft roles as a helper or laborer, or a combination of work experience and training, and a basic knowledge of the craft assigned.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
