Piedmont Augusta Hospital seeks a highly skilled Medical Instrument Preparation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the Perioperative Department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely standards for surgical instrument preparation, assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing, and sterilization.

About This Role

Our ideal candidate possesses excellent customer service skills and is able to work effectively with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment, and case carts in an efficient manner. You will also assist in maintaining consistent workflow and providing superior customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain recommended standards for surgical instrument preparation, assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing, and sterilization
  • Perform sterilization, assembly, and storage of medical supplies and equipment
  • Collaborate with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment, and case carts
  • Assist in maintaining consistent workflow and providing superior customer service
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Certification as a Central Sterile Tech or 3 years of Central Sterile experience
Preferred Qualifications

A Central Service Processing Technician Certification or Surgical Tech Certification is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,000-$65,000 based on industry standards and local market conditions. Piedmont Augusta Hospital offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
