ChristianaCare is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care Surgical Observation Unit. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with flexibility to work all shifts, including day, evening, and weekend rotations. The successful candidate will be expected to train in various aspects of patient care, including preparation and holding, post-anesthesia care, and surgical observation. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to adult patients admitted for observation or awaiting bed availability following a surgical procedure.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform accurate clinical assessments of patients on admission and throughout their hospital stay, documenting observations according to established standards.
* Identify potential problems and initiate nursing plans of care based on assessment and diagnosis.
* Coordinate medications safely and optimally, responding effectively to patient crisis situations.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care, eliciting input from team members to ensure concerns or needs are being addressed.

Requirements

* Current RN licensure in the State of Delaware
* BLS certification required
* ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required within 6 months of hire
* BSN preferred, with dedication to acquiring BSN within three years of hire considered with relevant experience
* At least two years of experience in med/surg required

The successful candidate may be eligible for a $10,000 sign-on- bonus to be paid over 12 months.
